About

These terms are an agreement between you and New Media XP (“NMX”, “we”, “us”) about PDFGen, our web app for creating, combining and designing PDFs, at https://www.newmediaxp.com/app/pdfgen. They cover PDFGen in your browser, when you install it from your browser, and in any app store where we offer it.

By using PDFGen, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use it. If you’re too young to agree to terms like these where you live, ask a parent or guardian to agree for you.

PDFGen is part of our website, and the website’s own terms cover the rest of it: https://docs.newmediaxp.com/legal/terms-nmx-website. If you get PDFGen from an app store, that store’s terms also apply.

Using PDFGen

PDFGen is free to use, for personal or work purposes, and needs no account.
PDFGen runs on your device. We never receive your files, and we claim no rights in them. The PDFs you make are yours to use as you like.
If you use Share, the app you share to has its own terms.

Your Files

You’re responsible for your files. Only add files you have the right to use, and don’t use PDFGen to break the law, for example to forge documents or to copy or change documents you have no right to.
Keep your own copies. Autosave keeps one project, in one browser. Your browser can delete it, for example when you clear its data, and some browsers do so on their own after a time. Export the projects you want to keep. We never have a copy, so we can’t recover a lost project.
Passwords. PDFGen can protect the PDFs it makes with a password, using the PDF standard’s encryption. We never have your password, so we can’t recover it, and the PDF can’t be opened without it.
Check your PDFs. Look over what PDFGen makes before you rely on it, for example before you print it or send an important document.

Our App

PDFGen belongs to NMX, except for the open-source parts below. Don’t copy or republish it without our permission.
PDFGen uses open-source software that comes with its own licenses, which apply to those parts: PDF.js (Apache License 2.0, with image and color decoders under their own licenses), markdown-it (MIT License) and the SudokuGen library (MIT License).

Rules

You must not:

present PDFGen as your own, or remove our notices from it;
use PDFGen to break the law.

Changes To PDFGen

We may change, pause or stop PDFGen or parts of it. If we plan to stop offering it, we’ll say so on our website ahead of time. Because PDFGen runs on your device, keep copies of the files and projects you need.

No Guarantees

We provide PDFGen “as is”, for free. We work to keep it running and correct, but we can’t promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or right for what you need.

As far as the law allows, NMX isn’t responsible for losses from using PDFGen, including lost or damaged files and projects, or mistakes in the PDFs it makes.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live, or limits our responsibility where the law doesn’t allow it to be limited.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If you live in another country, you also keep the protection of its consumer laws.

Changes To These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. When they change, the date at the top changes too. If a change is significant, we’ll also say so in PDFGen or on our website before it takes effect. If you keep using PDFGen after that, the new terms apply.
