About

These terms are an agreement between you and New Media XP (“NMX”, “we”, “us”) about SudokuGen, which creates and solves sudoku puzzles. It comes in two forms:

The web app, for creating, solving, playing and sharing puzzles, at https://www.newmediaxp.com/app/sudokugen.
The code library and command-line tool, for creating and solving puzzles in your own projects: a C# library (also as a Unity package) and command-line tool, and a JavaScript library.

These terms cover the web app in your browser, when you install it from your browser, and in any app store where we offer it. The library and command-line tool are open source, and their license is their terms, as explained below.

By using SudokuGen, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use it. If you’re too young to agree to terms like these where you live, ask a parent or guardian to agree for you.

The web app is part of our website, and the website’s own terms cover the rest of it: https://docs.newmediaxp.com/legal/terms-nmx-website. If you get the web app from an app store, that store’s terms also apply.

Using The Web App

The web app is free to use, for personal or work purposes, and needs no account.
The web app runs on your device. We never receive your puzzles, and we claim no rights in them. The puzzles you make are yours to use as you like.
If you share a puzzle through another site or app, that site’s or app’s own terms apply.

Code Library And Command-Line Tool

The library, its Unity package and the command-line tool are open source under the MIT License, which comes with their source code. That license is their terms: it lets you use, copy, change and share them, including in paid projects, as long as you keep its copyright and license notice.
Where the license and these terms differ, the license applies to the library and command-line tool.
We publish them, and their source code, on NuGet, npm, OpenUPM, GitHub and GitLab. Each of those sites has its own terms.

Our App

The web app belongs to NMX, except for the SudokuGen library inside it, which is under the MIT License. Don’t copy or republish the web app without our permission.

Rules

You must not:

present the web app as your own, or remove our notices from it;
use SudokuGen to break the law.

Changes To SudokuGen

We may change, pause or stop the web app, the library, the command-line tool or parts of them. If we plan to stop offering the web app, we’ll say so on our website ahead of time. Copies of the library and command-line tool that you already have keep their license.

The web app keeps only your current puzzle, in one browser, so keep the links of the puzzles you want to come back to.

No Guarantees

We provide SudokuGen “as is”, for free. We work to keep it running and correct, but we can’t promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or right for what you need.

As far as the law allows, NMX isn’t responsible for losses from using SudokuGen, including lost puzzles and progress, or mistakes in the puzzles it makes.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live, or limits our responsibility where the law doesn’t allow it to be limited.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If you live in another country, you also keep the protection of its consumer laws.

Changes To These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. When they change, the date at the top changes too. If a change is significant, we’ll also say so in SudokuGen or on our website before it takes effect. If you keep using SudokuGen after that, the new terms apply.
